JANET'S JOURNEY IN MINISTRY

This Ministry grew out of a Disciple Bible Study that I was involved in for nine months in 1997, where Spiritual Gifts were revealed. I quit the best job I ever had and set out to follow God's path to my serving HIM as a Christian Counselor.

God took me on an awesome journey of spiritual growth and professional skills building for the next 12 years. It was truly amazing and HE did not allow my foot to even be dashed upon a rock.

There were plenty of challenges though. The hardest being the illness and death of my mother, Penny Lovett, from breast cancer. She and God Almighty have made this ministry possible, through her life teaching, instilling HIS love and service, to those who hurt and are in need, in me. Also, she believed in me, encouraged me and made a way for me to meet any challenges I had, including financial ones. She was a true Proverbs 31 woman.

The Bachelor's and Master's degrees were obtained. Many precious people, my family (brother, two daughters and husband), church family, friends, employer's, co-workers and client's all helped me along the path to HOPE.

I grew in understanding and spirit as I worked with: medically fragile babies and the volunteers, who cared for them, parents who struggled with many life issues and gained skills to overcome them, addicts whose lives seemed doomed to be ruled by their addictions gained sobriety and a life, intellectually disabled teens who were the hardest working students in school and worked to their full potential, trauma victims, who did not give up, and made it to a healing place by HIS strength, love, and grace.

The journey, to the opening of HOPE Christian Concepts, has been truly awesome and I am humbled to have been a part of it! HOPE is now a reality and I meet each day with excitement and anticipation as to what God will do in this day through HOPE Christian Concepts!
